How long do veneers from your Dallas, GA, area dentist last?

Porcelain veneers are among the most popular cosmetic dental procedures in the Dallas GA area. They can change virtually anything about the appearance of your smile, with little to no alteration of your natural teeth. This is accomplished with an ultra-thin layer of porcelain adhered to the tooth surface, concealing imperfections and minor damages. The procedure is completed in a matter of weeks, and the results can last for years, or possibly even decades, with proper care.

How long do veneers last?

If you search for how long veneers last, you will find estimates ranging from a couple of years to over twenty years. In reality, the best answer is that it varies. A great many things can affect the lifespan of a veneer, but the two primary factors are the quality of dentistry, and your oral health.

Drs. Vo and Breckley are highly skilled and experienced. They know what it takes to design a good veneer, and they work with premium dental laboratories for consistently excellent quality. Ideally, veneers from 32 Dental should last for a very long time. However, this is largely dependent on your health and habits.

Extending the life of your smile

What can you do to keep your new smile healthy and beautiful for a long time to come?
  • Brush and floss thoroughly, every day
  • Visit us for cleaning and a checkup at least once a year
  • Wear a mouth guard when playing sports
  • Wear a night guard when sleeping
  • Avoid chewing on ice or biting down on extremely hard foods
  • Don't hold objects in your mouth, or use your teeth to open bottles and packages

Why oral health matters

There is a common misconception that brushing and flossing become less important if you have veneers. After all, the enamel is covered in porcelain, which cannot decay. Unfortunately, it's not so simple. Veneers only cover the front surface, leaving the rest of the tooth vulnerable to the ravages of plaque and bacteria. Once a tiny cavity begins, decay can spread behind the veneer, destroying the surface it is attached to. If that happens, the veneer may become loose or it may have to be removed in order to restore the underlying tooth.

When you choose 32 Dental for porcelain veneer treatment, we will be happy to answer your questions and provide detailed advice on caring for your new smile. Call us at (770) 423-1132 and schedule a consultation today.

I've been seeing Dr. Breckley and Dr. Vo since they opened this practice, and I'm still a huge fan. I recently had some dental work done with them (like this morning). I've never doubted the doctors' abilities, and this experience was no exception. They are experts and are very good at their craft. I want to also mention the support staff, especially the women on the front desk. They are thorough, helpful, and so very nice. I've never experienced the follow-up and follow through at another practice as I have with them at 32 Dental. I always know what my bill will be. There are never any surprises, and that is so comforting in this day of American healthcare. :) I'll continue to refer my friends to them and patron their practice based on my experiences with them! Thanks!

Wow." I would definitely recommend this practice to anyone who wants both kids and adults to be taken care of at the same location!
