We make the oral surgery procedure of tooth extraction comfortable in our office near Acworth
Tooth extraction is not one of the most common treatments performed in dental offices. At Thirty-two Dental, we work with patients for the prevention of dental problems that could lead to tooth loss. Our teeth are quite dense and strong, intended to last us our lifetime. With successful care at home, it is possible to maintain teeth in their best condition. Keeping a regular schedule for professional care is essential to the early detection and treatment of dental problems.
Though one of our primary goals is to help our patients enjoy natural teeth for life, we understand that there are instances in which the oral surgery procedure of tooth extraction becomes necessary. Our patients from Acworth, Marietta, and surrounding areas can rest assured our team provides gentle, efficient care that produces the desired outcome.
Tooth extraction can seem frightening, but this procedure is actually minor in most cases. Even when your dentist is removing all four wisdom teeth, you can feel confident that you will remain completely comfortable throughout your procedure. Much of the time, tooth extraction takes only a few minutes to complete after the treatment area has been numbed with local anesthetic. Although the application of local numbing medication keeps patients physically comfortable, we know that anxiety may still occur, and we have a solution for that.
Patients of Thirty-two Dental can approach the tooth extraction procedure with full confidence knowing that our team understands how frightening this treatment can be. In our office, you can sit back and relax while we attend to your dental needs. Extraction may be performed with a mild sedative, nitrous oxide.
Nitrous oxide is one of the oldest forms of sedation used for medical and dental procedures. This sedative is wonderful for inclusion into extraction procedures, placing the patient into a state of relaxation that eliminates fear and stress. Nitrous is delivered via a nasal cannula in combination with oxygen.
Within seconds of administration, this sedative becomes effective within the central nervous system, easing tension and anxiety. Patients treated with nitrous oxide often report feeling euphoric. Upon the completion of treatment, delivery of nitrous oxide is stopped and its effects quickly subside. This means that patients may drive themselves home safely.
Working with Dr. Breckley and Dr. Vo at Thirty-two Dental, you can confidently face tooth extraction. Contact us today for your private consultation.
