Understanding the types of dental crowns in Kennesaw

A dental crown is a protective cap that is bonded over a tooth in order to restore it after damage, provide strength and function, and improve its appearance. When the crown is placed on the tooth it covers the entire surface area above the gum line. Crowns are an important restorative and cosmetic treatment that is used when a tooth has been broken, damaged, or is fragile. It can also be used as part of a bridge appliance or to cover a dental implant when a tooth is missing.

Dr. Lan Vo and Dr. Sean Breckley of 32 Dental Practice provide a wide range of preventative, restorative, and cosmetic dental treatments. They are skilled at reshaping and reconstructing a tooth, or teeth, to give patients the function they want and appearance they deserve.

There are several types of dental crowns available for Kennesaw patients:
  • Stainless steel – Most often used with children because of the cost-effectiveness and speed in which they can be placed, stainless steel crowns are prefabricated and are used to protect a damaged tooth from further decay.
  • Metals – Crowns that are made of gold or metal-based alloy are an effective solution for many patients who need to protect a back tooth. While the metal crowns are visible, they're also quite durable and last a long time.
  • Porcelain or ceramic – These types of crown provide the best solution in regards to appearance because they look most like natural teeth and are often used on front teeth. However, they wear the surrounding teeth more frequently.
  • Resin – The most affordable solution for many patients. However, crowns made of all resin tend to wear down over time and will fracture or stain more frequently.
  • Temporary versus permanent – Because temporary crowns can be placed in a single visit while permanent crowns require time to be created in the dental laboratory, temporary crowns are often used while the patient waits for his or her permanent restoration.
Your dentist will provide all of the information you need in order to make the right decision. For more information about crowns, please contact Drs. Vo and Breckley at 32 Dental Practice today.

I've been seeing Dr. Breckley and Dr. Vo since they opened this practice, and I'm still a huge fan. I recently had some dental work done with them (like this morning). I've never doubted the doctors' abilities, and this experience was no exception. They are experts and are very good at their craft. I want to also mention the support staff, especially the women on the front desk. They are thorough, helpful, and so very nice. I've never experienced the follow-up and follow through at another practice as I have with them at 32 Dental. I always know what my bill will be. There are never any surprises, and that is so comforting in this day of American healthcare. :) I'll continue to refer my friends to them and patron their practice based on my experiences with them! Thanks!

Wow." I would definitely recommend this practice to anyone who wants both kids and adults to be taken care of at the same location!

32 Dental was quick and kind. The office staff was efficient and the dentist was very thorough. He referred me to a specialist due to the type of root canal needed. He was able to find one available for the same day. I will definitely use them in the future.
